Hey guys,

I am looking for a cable that is an extension of my ethernet port. Where on one end the cable would have the male plug to plug into my port, and on the other have another female port to plug in my ethernet cable. I understand simple logic would be just get a longer ethernet cable. This is modding project and due to how I have my motherboard located my ethernet port is on the inside of my enclosure. I want this cable so I can have a port on the outside of my enclosure and not have to route my ethernet cable to the inside....if that makes any sense. I would only have to be about 6 inches long as well.

You could use a short cable and plug into an Ethernet coupler. Depending on your needs, that could be a basic coupler or one designed for installation in a patch panel.

I simply need to have the ethernet port on the outside of my enclosure for easy disconnection.

But with this coupler my connection would look something like this?

Outside my enclosure | Inside my enclosure

<Internet><Switch><Ethernet Cable> | <Coupler><Ethernet Cable><Motherboard Ethernet Port>
