I found this forum from a Google search that brought me to the following link (which is similar to my problem):

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1731949

I am using ESXi 5.1, Windows Server 2008 R2, and am attempting to attach a 3TB WD Green drive directly via RDM using vmkfstools with the -z switch. I have two 500GB drives and a 1.5TB drive attached already to the VM OS using RDM but with the -r switch (which works because they're under 2TB). What I'm actually seeing is the drive appears in Windows disk management, but it shows up as -128MB (negative value), as opposed to the 0MB that Ruxl had. I have tried Ruxl's suggestion of using the vml reference, and no change. I don't have a Linux partition to test and see if it works there, as Ruxl did.

I'm kindof stuck at this point, and would like to see if anyone had any further suggestions, thoughts, tips or tricks that might help me figure out the issue and maybe get it resolved... Thanks in advance!
