    Just wondering if anyone has managed to get GPU passthrough working with an RX470 or 480?
    I have tried on ESXi 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5 without any luck so far.

    I have tried all sorts of things and every time I start the guest windows machine, it hangs the whole ESXi server.
    It stops pinging across the network and the screen is unresponsive to keyboard/mouse.

    I have tried editing the vmx file manually with a few of the most common settings that worked for people in the past.

    pciHole.start = "1200"
    pciHole.end = "2200"
    hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE"
    pciPassthru0.msiEnabled = "FALSE"

    Also tried both BIOS and UEFI settings for the guest OS

    Did you try a test VM with only 2GB RAM assigned? If it works with that then you just have to find the right settings.

    If it doesn't work even at 2GB then passthrough is broken for the RX470/480.
