ESXi 5.5 Install Issue

I am trying install ESXi 5.5 on a SM X8STE motherboard with an I7 920 CPU. It gets to the point where it says it is rearranging the modules and loading the kernel, and then reboots.

Anyone seen this behavior or have any ideas on how to debug/tell what is happening?
 
Look in the /var/log directory for the vmkwarning.log (A summary of Warning and Alert log messages excerpted from the VMkernel logs.) and the vmksummary.log (A summary of ESXi host startup and shutdown, and an hourly heartbeat with uptime, number of virtual machines running, and service resource consumption.)
 
I can not get to the point of even anything installed on a hard drive. It happens when boot off the CD, loading modules, and then trying to load the kernel to start the install process.
 
Ah! I loading you already had it loaded. Try a different USB drive and/or USB port connected to the MB?
 
Is the motherboard on the HCL? It could be any number of hardware items on the board that aren't supported. You may want to try an older build of Esxi such as 5.1
 
Would also recommend a newer or older build to see if that works.

Once installed, try upgrading to latest.
