I have a Dell Poweredge 1950, a little old I know, and I want to install a hypervisor to setup multiple OS's. When I started the Install of ESXi I got the message "processors don't support virtualization". I've searched but didn't find the exact answer I was looking for. Does this mean that I can't split up processing power between the OS's that I install?
What I want to do is install a few OS's like XP Pro, Vista, Win 7, Ubuntu server, Ubuntu desktop and maybe a Windows server OS. I want to do this so I can practice remote admin (hosting this machine at parents house).
If ESXi can't provide the services that I want (virtualization) then what are my options? Install an OS and then install a virtualization app and then install the OS's?
