ESX5 - Finding HBA cards in use

I just finished my SuperMicro build with 3 M1015 cards in the server. 1 card serves up the boot drives with my Napp-It and vCenter VMs only. Another card is in passthrough to my Napp-It VM and I have the third card doing nothing.

What I need to figure out is which device ID is the M1015 NOT in use. I am looking at my notes on which cards are in use but I want a way from the command line or vSphere client to verify this information to make sure I didn't get anything backwards because passing through my boot devices would be, in a word, bad.

Under my configuration I see vmhba0 which is connected to my boot drives and vmhba1 which has no devices. My other HBA is already in passthrough mode so it doesn't show. WHen I try to configure pasthrough though there's no way (that I can see) to figure out which device ID goes to vmhba1. I'm sure there has to be a way, but I must be missing a keyword with Google because I can't seem to find it.

Any advice?

I think it's this. From the host type in: esxcli --server [server name/IP address] storage core path list

That was close, but didn't get me the PCI info I needed.

For those interested this will help to get the right info: esxcfg-info

Look for the VmKernel Device Name and you will get the Parent Device and Dependant Device along with a passthrough capable flag. It's a lot of output but you can use less to find the HBA device and go from there.

My notes (this time) were accurate.

Here's the output that verified my info:

Code:
               |----Module Id.......................................64
               |----Chassis.........................................0
               |----Physical Slot...................................1
               |----VmKernel Device Name............................vmhba1
               |----Slot Description................................CPU1 Slot1
               |----Passthru Capable................................true
               |----Parent Device...................................PCI 0:0:3:2
               |----Dependent Device................................PCI 0:7:0:0
               |----Reset Method....................................1
               |----FPT Shareable...................................true

lspci, esxcfg-info, esxcfg-scsidevs -a, esxcfg-mpath -b, all of those in combination will get you every drop of info you want.

For even more details, vsish, then:
cd /storage/scsifw/adapters
cd ADAPTERNAME
cat info (or properties, can't remember off the top of my head). View cool shit. Stats is also sweet.
