Hey. I'm trying to conduct a trade with a guy (laptop for laptop) and we are looking for an escrow service. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
 
I think eBay has an escrow service they highly recommend (or own :p), forgot what its called though.

Threads don't get closed when people say "Well, use ebay's escrow service"

Threads get closed when stupid people say something like

"I bought this laptop on ebay......"
or..
"I was trading this video card with someone over at anandtech's forums..."

From what I could tell, escrow.com is for sale transactions only, not trades. So anyone know of any other escrow services?
 
If the trade was here, thats fine. If the deal happend other then here, it gets locked.

Do a google search on escrow services and you should find something, but since it is a trade thing, i dont know if youll find anything
 
You could always find someone willing to act as an escrow. Malgato's suggestion might not be that far off.
 
Honestly, I'd be more than happy to help out two fellow [H]'ers except for the fact that I know nobody'd take me up on it, and / or if anything *did* happen I'd probably be the first one held responsible...

I'd crossship as long as expenses for said service are covered...

I've got a fedex dropoff point 1.2 miles from here.
I pass it by DAILY.
 
I also have a question: someone wanted me to do escrow (I was the seller) to Canada. Isn't that a bad idea because I keep reading delayed shipments across the border? That would mean delayed payment as well, wouldn't it?
