eSata Thumbdrive for Page File/TEMP?

I have been meaning to ask this for probably a year now and I always see to forget it.
Is it viable to set your page file/TEMP in windows to a eSata thumb drive to increase performance and not require the hard drive to move read/write heads around just for stuff like this?
If it is an option, why don't more people do it?

Most people would put their whole OS on a device like that. So yeah, it's somewhat common. I'm sure more people would do it if SSDs and eSATA drives were cheaper.

The reasons are probably similar to why, until recently, USB flash drives were seldom used as page files: mainly, they weren't so cheap and ubiquitous back then.

Keep in mind that the eSATA flash drives haven't officially arrived yet.

I guess I was wrong... they are available.

(But many people, including myself, use a separate partition in the HDD for a swap file... and that works just fine for the majority of users.)
