eSATA II, RAID5 enclosure

These are just external cases for a number of drives, using multilane cabes to connect to your computer. The case has no raid hardware. If you want to run raid 5 you would have to put a raid card in your computer (like the 3ware they mention) or run software raid 5.
 
Right on.. I'd need a eSATA II RAID 5 card for my PC. I found one that has 4 ports but it requires a PCI-X slot and my motherboard only has PCIe and PCI slots. I didn't see any eSATA cards by 3ware (I'd have to use a separate bracket). I did come across this card today:

What do you think about that card? I realize the RAID 5 will be software based but I guess if I want a hardware based RAID 5 solution, I'll have to spend much more.

If I get the 2 port eSATA card, I could start with one 5 bay enclosure and then add another one in the future.

Any idea why the multilane cables cost so much?

Is Infiniband the same thing as multilane?
