eSATA hot swap question

I'm looking into getting an eSATA drive enclosure for an external HD. Most enclosures I've seen come with a host bracket that converts an internal SATA connector on the motherboard to eSATA. Is this going to let me hot swap the drive? Or will I need to get a esata controller card?
 
depends on the enclosure you purchase. addonics (i believe) has its own controller in there.
