Thinking about adding another 480 for sli but I'm on the lowend of the psu range by [H] requirements 800-850 watts.

I like to try surround with the two additional monitors I've fixed (bad caps) and don't have funds for both a used 480 and a new psu. Rest of the specs are in the sig with 2 hd's and mcp350. I'll take the 9600 out.

Think it would work or just too close for comfort.

My system uses around 650 watts give or take while playing games. Though I think the GTX 580's use a bit less power than GTX 480's do. I'm guessing you'd probably hit 700 watts at most depending on your drive configuration. That's pretty close to maxing out your PSU. Though honestly we need to know more about the PSU to know what it can or can not handle. If it's not a quality PSU, 700 watts could be asking way too much out of it regardless of what it's "rated" for.

Specs:

Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.2GHz
Koolance CPU-350AT
Koolance Exos 2.5
EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified
2x Corsair Dominator GT 2000MHz DDR3 (2, 3x2GB Kit, 12GB total)
Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2
2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Sasmsung DVD-R/RW Drive (SATA)
Corsair Obsidian 800D
Thermaltake ToughPower 1200 watt
2x Galaxy GeForce GTX 580 SLI

I missed the model number my first read through. It have helped if he added the brand in there.

My bad..so it should be able to handle the task if your pulling around 650-700w and Paul didn't see any problems with the quality.
