I'm not sure if this is related to my hard drive or not, but every once and a while, my pc won't start properly after it's been turned off.
The most recent time was last weekend. I shut off my computer friday morning, and returned home sunday evening to turn it on. When I turned it on, the bios posted normally, my drive was recognized, I could hear it seek for a second or so, and then nothing. It just hung. It didn't even make it to the winxp loading screen.
I booted from my winxp cd, and did the restore option. It took me to a DOS prompt, and then I rebooted. This time, the system booted into windows, but then a blue screen came up with some errors that I didn't write down
and I had to reboot again. It's been working fine since then.
It's happened about 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months. It's annoying. I usually have to re-format to fix it.
Any suggestions? specs in sig.
