I am having an issue with a RAID volume on my physical server 2012 box, it has two Dell Perc 5i controllers, each with 8 drives attached. I am attempting to copy data from one volume to the other however it always stops, freezes and I have to reboot the box. Event viewer is saying:

The IO operation at logical block adress blah blah blah for Disk 2 was retried

The error always refers to Disk 2 and the logical block address always starts with 767 but the rest of the characters change.

I took drive 2 offline yesterday and rebuilt it into the array, is it likely the drive is failing or is my volume corrupt?

Details are lacking in the OP.

Buddy, we need to the whole story from the parts to the setup and configuration.

I do have a battery but I think its dead. I am using WD Green 1.5TB drives, been using them for a long time no errors, the other volume is using 2TB WD Green drives also. Both raid controllers are Perc 5i's.

Ok thanks, but as to my error, what can I do? I have ordered a replacement battery.

Have you looked at the SMART raw data for the drive was kicked out to see if the drive believes it is operating abnormally?

If CrystalDiskInfo does not give you access to individual drives when connected to your RAID card then the next time it gets kicked out of the array plug the drive into a regular SATA port and then run CrystalDiskInfo.
