I noticed that in Everest on my dually 2200+ that my gig of registered/ecc memory shows up as supported and disabled. I found the option in the BIOS, and it's set to disabled, but also has EC/ECC/ECC & Scrub? And there's a secondary option that I forget. Everest also says that ECC & Scrubbing isn't support, which I'm guessing that means the memory can't do, since the board has the option.

As this isn't setup as a server just yet, I'm not all that concerned about ECC, but should I turn it on? Or will this put a big spank on the memory's/system's performance? First true "server" so I've still got alot of playing around to do. But I'd like to have error checking and correction running when I do set it up as my primary server/file server/fold server if I decide to setup my network like that.

It all depends on what you want. In most cases ECC is not actually needed and does cause a little of a performance hit. I'm not sure if you would even notice the performance hit. If the board uses ECC RAM and the RAM is ECC, then turn it on and see what happens. If there is a performance hit, you'll see what it is and then decide what you want to do.

I'd probably just turn it on and leave it that way if you are going to use this box as something other than a folding rig or basic tasks.
