erratic SMP rewards

I know things are a bit in flux with Stanford and that the points system is being updated, but I am getting very erratic returns on regular SMP units. Even throwing out my recent 4 day 1400 point fiasco as an outlier I have seen everything from 9 hours for 4600 points to 10,000 points in 3 hours in the last couple days.

Are other regular SMP folders experiencing the same confusing point rewards?
 
It depends on the WU that you are folding, on the whole Core A3 WU are reasonably steady in terms of the PPD that you get. Core A4 Wu on the other hand are all over the place - i've seen 70k on my dually for a standard core A4 down to 45k - on windows Core A5 bigadv it is only capable of 76k on a good day
 
All I've been getting lately are A3's worth ~5000 points. With the odd 13,000 point wu thrown in.

 
Dont think its just you My i7-870 used to get 34k bigadv a day now its down to 14k to 20k with smp. that's at 4ghz. i fully understand why some people get soo pissed off a folding!
 
I'm pretty sure it's just a different WU. I haven't gone through my HFM logs recently, but it seems that the ones that turn in for 14k or so take a bit longer to finish than the 5k ones (i.e. 2-3 updates instead of 1-2)
 
there are some SMP units that ive been getting that turn in for ~14-18k Poitns, but take much longer.

That's comparing bigadv to regular SMP. Between different regular SMP units, there aren't any large PPD variations.
 
from 14k to 20k thats close to 30% difference. the p10130 is the shitty one the p6099 is the good one of course i have seen 3 different one's only 1 of them gets 20 the other two get 18k to 19k
 
I've only gotten 2 bigadv in the last month. It's becoming no longer worth it to fold. May be time to switch to something else. My ppd has dropped nearly in half and I can't afford the power or equipment to go bigger just to keep up. I may shut down completely or try something in the BOINC realm.


 
hhuricane my points are close to half of what they where but soo is 99% of everyone ealse. im still maintaining my top 45 to 50 standing's
 
Well, with our power rates rumored to be taking a 50% jump soon I'm just not feelin' the love anymore. It's not just the points but the expense. I can spend my coin more responsibly elsewhere.


 
Well, I'm not gong to quit or anything, but I do wish they would get their math straight om how long it takes us to fold the things and reward consistently...math IS what they do right?
