EQU program?

Curious if theres an auto equlizer program? Cause it seems all my music dosent like the same custom setting, and the preset's suck so very badly to my ears

any links or anything would help...........and also, when i make a custom sound it sounds nice, but then i turn it up, or down, and it sounds all muffled/to much high......
any help or links would be great, thanks!

I have a Soundblaster Live (black pcb) 5.1 surround sound card, latest drivers
With windows XP home
uhhhh dunno what else to add really.....

just want a auto equlizer program thats all, thanks

What exactly do you mean by "auto equalization"? You mention that your settings don't sound good for all your music, so do you want something where you can set eq settings for each individual song? That sounds reasonable but I don't know if such a program exists. If truly want your computer to automatically equalize your sound then you really can't do that without external hardware to provide a feedback loop. Basically what happens in that case is you have a microphone to pick up sound from your speakers. The computer plays a series of frequencies, the microphone picks up the sound and then is able to equalize your sound to get a flat curve over the frequency range. There really isn't any other way to do auto equalization unless you know the exact specifications and response curves of your soundcard and speakers, and even then a lot depends on your environment and how it affects different frequencies differently. If that isn't what you are looking for then I apologize for the long-winded response. In any case, it would be nice to know exactly what you mean by "auto equalization".

Yes thats what i mean, as it, each song i play sounds good, or avrage, not really good for one and crappy for other......vis versa with volume

a friend told me there is one but its no longer made, he said older versions of WINAMP would auto EQ each song....... just curious if theres anything out there now

So then you want something so that you can manually set eq settings for each song?

Yes, but automaticaly, i dont want to keep changing my EQ to fit each song......and the presets suck they sound horriable

gonna bump this...........if no one knows what im talking about (which i have no clue why you wouldnt understand waht i mean) if you dont know of a program of which i speak of, then can you post screen shots of how your software EQU is set up? imma try em and see, i cant seem to get a good all around setting mostly alternitive, movies, games.......i just want a medium
