First off I really like the layout of the case and the way everything comes appart. Plus it booted up with a Mobile A64 something no Nforce250GB system has done yet with OEM BIOS. I'm very excited about this and looking forward to O/Cing the unit. My only complaint is 1.55 max voltage in the BIOS & the Chipset fan isn't exactly what I would call great quality. But not many nForce solutions even have a active chipset cooler. Thats it!

More Coming....

Final score with this CPU turned out pretty good considering.

Athlon 64 1.6GHz @ 2.2GHz - 600MHz O/C not bad in my opinion.
Here are some screen shots.

Obviously the voltage is wrong in CPUz Its at 1.5v

Hmm...correct me if i'm wrong...but isn't the 2800+ supposed to be 1.8ghz instead of 1.6?

You missed the Mobile part. A 2800+ is a 1.8GHz with 512kb cache desktop part.

Benchmarks eh?

Here are some benchmarks. This is with my X800 Pro at stock speeds 475/450 and CPU at 2.2GHz RAM at above settings.

While I'm proud to be a member of the 20,000 3dmark 01 club. I'm not very happy with only 9k for 3DMark 03.

7/4/04 - I updated my memory benchmarks with a little tighter timings and T1 Command Rate. 300 Point Increase not bad. I really don't think it will effect much in the real world though.

I also believe if I had better RAM that could do 440MHz DDR at CAS 2 that would help my benchmarks some.

Oh and I was robbed of my dreams of realtime DD encoding on the C-Media chip.

Thanks Kingofl337 for sharing so much info. I've got a 3801 myself and am looking to learn all I can about it's abilities. I've been considering getting an a64 mobile myself and it's nice to know that the soltek will recognize it right off the bat, but i am concerned about the soltek heatsink not making contact with the mobile's core. Can you confirm, either way, if the heatsink that comes with the 3801 makes contact or not? If not, do you know of any decent heatsink/fan combos that do (and actually still fit into the 3801)? Based on what I read in your sig, it looks like you've got a watercooling solution in your box so I'm not sure if you even bothered with the included heatsink/fan. :p

If anyone else out there has any info in regaurds to this, it's both welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Did you ever try hardmodding your x800 into a x800xt-pe?? Your 3dmark03 scores would be really high. Oh and thanks for posting all the information and benches, I think my mind is now made up to get one of those!

GeniusInABottle: The only way I can think of to get the stock heatsink to fit correctly is to A.) remove the plastic supports on the inside of the rention mechanism. B.) Get a 1mm thick shim and place it between the core and heatsink. C.) The board is marked out for a p4 rention mechanism you could drill the blanks out and install a P4 heatsink.

paulmofyourhand: I don't know how hot the CPU is running because either the mobile CPU doesn't have a diode or the mainboards temp isn't functioning. It reads 45deg all the time and never changes. With the HTT running at 275.00 I'd say its safe to say that AGP/PCI lock is working.

ohgod: I did try to mod my card into an XT but I scraped off some surrounding cover on the pins and it grounded out or something. The PS would just trip off. Not the soltek PS either a 550watt FSP Group supply. I have gotten the card to O/C to XT speeds. I can't seem to break into the 11k's like I would like to but oh well. 10500 isn't bad.

any updates on your build? i finally got my cpu in today, so i should have my box up soon. decided to go with a 3000+ AX core (true newcastle) so hopefully she clocks well. what mem dividers did you use (if any)? LDT multiplier/voltage? RAM timings? any and all details you give are appreciated. :)

My memory timings are posted up top. I don't have the voltage on the chipset turned up as it has no effect on stablity. Nor does it alow me to eek some more MHz out of this chip.

I just updated to the Newest CATs and with my video card overclocked I broken into the 11's! w00t! I have it set at DDR333 setting which nets me a 221MHz memory clock which all my memory can take. I'm looking to upgrade to a 1GB but I haven't found what I'm looking for yet.

I'll be posting the case mod section of this soon.

Any more updates on this SFF ???

A friend and I are looking at getting the EQ3801 (supposed to have updated the PSU to 300 watt now I thought I saw) and was wondering how good the overclocking has been lately or if the new bios updates have fixed anything? Were currently eyeballing this SFF and a new 3100 Sempron to OC it.

Any new info you have to share would be appreciated.

Thank You...

well, any o/c is as much luck as anything else.

but why not get the a64 2800+?

try here forum dedicated to soltek sff's.

I couldnt get much out of my 3400 but the cpu is close to its limit @stock and my 6800gt sucks down alot of power.
