EPS12v to ATX12v??

Here's the story...

My friend bought a new PSU. His old mobo has an atx12v connector but the PSU only has the 8pin connector (looks like its set up as 2x 4). What happens if you just plug in half of it. Is this safe/will it work?

Edit: Just plugged half of the 8pin connector (4+4) into the ATX12v. Seems to click in and fit just fine.

Yeah, if you plug in half, it would still be fine. Usually, the 8-pin is made as a 4+4 pin, so it could be split in half, but it's not always the case.

Try splitting it into 4+4. In case its not splitting, than plug in half of the same although it might be a difficult task. It will not cause any issue.
