I am building a new rig and am going to get a 790i Ultra board (please don't tell me to not go with 790i or DDR3 please). My question is with respect to memory and if EPP 2.0 should play into my buying decision. I want to end up with 4gbs of memory.

I have two choices:

G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - this in not EPP 2.0 cert.

and

OCZ Platinum Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - this is EPP 2.0 and I wouold need 2 kits

I guess my basic question is should I forgo EPP 2.0 and get a 2x2gb set (first link) or get EPP 2.0 and get a 4X1gb set (second link).

Will be running a Q9450 (or Q9550 if I can ever find it in stock) and Vista 64bit

Myself, I'm going with a 2x2 ddr3-1600 kit for now, and if I feel like it, when the ddr3-2000 epp2 2x2's come out I'll switch to those...

If you don't mind setting your latencies and voltages manually then you don't specifically need EPP/SLI Ready memory. So, it is not critical in your decision making.
