I am wondering how this board handles overclocks and how it performs in general? Have been searching and can't find too much specific information on it. I'm working on building a new system that will be running 2 gigs G.Skill Extreme ram, opty 165, and 2 7900GTs. Do any of these have known issues with this board - like the DFIs can have issues with certain types of ram, anything like that?

I'm fairly new to overclocking so I don't need anything crazy, but want to have options available to me as I progress. If there's something else out there that will work better for me for a similar price, I'm open to suggestion.

Thanks,

J

i was asking for opinions on that board, and got plenty of critisicm by the DFI fanclub... i was also told to go Asus...

I have always had good luck with my epox boards... and the newegg reviews for this are phenominal... i too have a opty 165 in transit and have yet to find any solid reports on its oc ability...

I'm thinking that it will serve me fine for now, looks like it does what I want it to and from what I can tell does it well. Unless someone steers me otherwise, it looks like this is going to be my board. Just not seeing why I should pay 60 bucks more for a similar, 'enthusiast' branded board at this point. I'm sure they work fine, but I'm not sure that they're worth the extra cash. The Epox has many of the features I liked about the higher priced boards for quite a bit less.

I have this board and love it so far. It ocs well, is cheap for all its features and works well with lots of ram

yep the epox 9npa+ sli is an awesome overclocker and is very stable with many many features, im sure youll be satisfied with it :)

Does the non SLI epox 9npa+ also have good OC'ing abilities or is it just the SLI version?

i would imagine they are the same, provided its the same chipset...

every epox i've ever owned has OC'd well... my 8rda was one of the first to allow bios unlocking of socket a chip multipliers.

has vdimm to 3.2v and vcore to 1.7v and both overvolt. nice bios but not quite as extensive as the dfi. epox made the best oc'ing via chipset boards and their nf3 boards were about the only choice until the dfi 250gb ut.
