Is there an updated bios for the epox mobo. I just got mine and Im getting ready to OC it and I was just wondering if theres a new bios out cause my cpu temp readings seem too low. It says around 30 when I check using sisoft its saying around 40. I think right now my bios is dated 5/06.
 
Ah thanks. I read ur other post about the board and it looks like were using the same [H]ardware. I got a 3800x2 with a stock heatpipe hsf from a x2 4400 and ocz ddr900. I guess I'll be pm'ing you if I have any problems OCing ;) Hopefully I can match your results.

5/06 isnt the date, its the version...Dillusion, where did you get a 7/19 bios? Heres the Epox Bios page. I dont see 7/19. Is there other Bios not available on this page?
 
You have to use the MagicBios utillity on the CD to update the bios, its not on the website.

Its fine I know its late. Just got my rig up to 2.7 now time to prime 95 it.

sounds good. mines been at 2.8 on the 8/02 bios. its a very stable board IMO

What cpu are you using and whats your settings at? I ran stable over night at 2.7 now Im trying 2.75 at 275fsb and 1:1 ratio and 1.45v. I have my vram at 2.1v.

EDIT: also what temps are you getting? mines at about 56c at load.
 
The 8/2 bios doesnt work on my board for some reason :confused: the FSB shows '0' instead of 200' when i use it.

lmao...it works. 0=stock(200) punch in 20 and f10 when it starts your at 2200(assuming you have an X2 3800)
 
Could someone post a link for the 7/19 BIOS. I can't seem to get it and the 8/2 BIOS doesn't work for me either.. Thanks!
 
There is no link, you have to use the magic bios utility that came with mobo cd to upgraded to the 7/19 bios. Anyways I have mine at 2.7ghz. I cant seem to get 2.8. Right now I have my fsb at 270, vcore at 1.375, memory at DDR400 setting and vdim at 2.0, and htt multiplier at x3. Is there anything else I can change to maybe hit 2.8 or is this it?
 
My chip is stuck at 2.65-2.7 with a 7/19 bios also...maybe the 8/2 will yeild a higher oc?
 
It does seem to help a little bit, but I was wondering whats the danger zone on the vcore and vdim so I dont damage anything?

i messaged ya...make sure your timings are loose. wouldnt go too much higher with the vcore since your already at 56 load.
 
Ok I was able to install my OCZ tempest in my MF case and I upped the vcore to 1.475 and 280fsb and its been running dual prime at 2.8 for almost 30mins at 57c. Hopefully it can run overnight like this. Anyways the only thing Im not satisfied with is the mem runing at 1:1 ratio with 5-5-5-15 and 1T timings cause thats what its rated at sock for DDR2 900 ram. If I change the ratio to the DDR2 533 settings it will post but it gives me the system file corrupt when I try to load windows. Im thinking it might be something wrong with the mem.
 
Ok I think I might have gotten a bad mobo. The mem divder is messed up. I can only set it to the ddr2 400 setting when Im at 270 fsb and I wont load windows if you use the ddr2 533 settings. If I turn down the fsb to 260 I can run the mem speed at the 533 setting and If I bring it down lower to 230 I can get the 667 speed to run and all the speeds 400-800 runs on 200fsb. I know my ram is good cause I tested it on my TForce mobo, so I gues Im gona get another epox and see if it works fine. Also does anyone know if the swiftech mcx6400-v will fit on the epox board, Im planning on getting it and just use the am2 mounts that came with my ocz tempest to mount it.
