I want to add a 2nd hdd and a dvd rom drive to my current setup, I only have one molex connecter left. I have a splitter, but will there be enough power? I have an antec true 430 psu and also am running 4(80mm) led fans.
 
That's alot of power... you could easily run that. Fans don't really suck up much current at all.
 
yes, your powersupply will have enough power to supply it but i m not sure if the y splitter cables are thick enough to support the extra current flowing through them
 
Well, unless those y-splitters are <20 gauge wire, you're going to be more than fine. Read the Case Mod FAQ, has current handling capacities listed for various gauges.
 
you can always splice another set of molex wires to make an extra set of connectors from somewhere else.... i did it before, then i found out i could just buy a y-splitter...ehh, wasted my time
 
Remove one of the LED fans... they are often useless and move less air than similarly-rated nonLED units. You should be able to take one out w/o losing temps (make sure more exhaust than intake).

it depends on what kinda fans

i have two types of led fans.... they're all clear

one is green and from cooler master..the other is blue from xoxide made by xoxide

the cooler master moves quite a lot of air..however, the xoxide fans can barely move anything... i put my hand in front of it and i barely feel anything

i only have the xoxide ones because those are my only blue led fans and i use those just for show and lighting up my case
 
use the splitter for fans, it'd be better then deviding it up betweet 2 higher current devices I would think.
 
They are blue coolermasters, they do push a good amount of air. I took one out and my temps didn't go up that much, only 2/3 degrees celcius. I have 2 of the fans on the mobo, and the other two only hooked together(the fans have a male and female molex connector) only on one molex connector.

Why, exactly?

I thought it was supposed to be more intake than exhaust in order to help with accumulation of dust, the theory being that if you have negative pressure in the case air will get pulled in through all the cracks where you haven't put filters.

But if something has changed in popular opinion recently, please let me know
 
I have a 330W running an 1800+. lan card, 4 hd's (about to add a fifth today), geforce 4 ti4200, i think 3 fans, a tv tuner and a sb live 5.1 platinum. i hope my psu can handle it
