It could be real. The engineering samples you normally get as a reviewer are usually indistinguishable from retail products. They are built pretty close to release and generally after the hardware has been finalized. Exceptions have been seen, but that's not the norm. I've not seen that exact type of marking on a GPU before, but I've seen things like that on hardware being demoed at press events. Sometimes they'll preview hardware that's still months away from release. Though to be fair, a lot of the products I've seen at such events never comes out.

A 320-bit 20GB configuration of the 3080 Ti was toyed with. Totally possible this is real. From what I recall it had more VRAM, but was slower than the 12GB 384-bit card we ultimately got which is more akin to a 12GB 3090 in performance.
