For adjustable fan speed models: Tune the knob to control PSU fan speed. Fan RPM can be manually controlled or automatically adjusted according to system loading to avoid overheating.

Perhaps the only reference to the knob you have says....

Per i modelli di (ventoline) ventole a velocita regolabile: regolare la manolola per controllare la velocita della (ventolina) ventola dell' alimenatore. I giri/minuto (RPM) della (ventolina) ventola possono essere controllati manualmente o reolati automaticamente in base al carico del sistema per evitare il surriscaldamento.
