Enermax VS Fortron

Look @ the sticky, here.
It says that the Fortron 530 watt beats just about every $100-199 psu, but nothing about the Enermax, so I'd say the Fortron.

I just got that Enermax, and i've got a few peeves about it:

1. Waaaaaaaaay too stiff atx sleeving, it is barely bend-able. From what i've heard, they fixed it in a future revision, but newegg isn't carrying it :(

2. If you ever want to sleeve it differently, however, then you're going to have a helluva time. The ground wires aren't insulated, so you'll have to run new ones. And the metal below the tubing is also tied into the ground, sure it's great for shielding but I was never aware that it was an issue!

3. Only 5 regular molex connectors, it's got 2 SATAs, they're IDC-style so you can easily replace them w/ regulars if you've got IDC-style ones lying around... like me :p

4. The fans never run fast enough to adequatly cool the unit, sure they're quiet but still not doing their jobs

5. The newegg ones do not have the 24-pin ATX connector

All of them are fixable if you're handy with solder, but still I shouldn't have to do this much work!

I think i'm going to go with that Fortron 530watt PS over the Enermax and Thermaltake PS's I've been looking at.

You guys are basically comparing apples and oranges. The Fortron model you should be comparing is the Fortron 550w model, being that it (and that enermax) have dual +12v lines.

The fortron 530w has a single (albeit strong) +12v rail and probably isn't the best one to compare with the enermax noisetaker.
