ENERMAX Noisetaker AX Series EG495AX-VE SFMA 2.0 ATX12V 485W Power Supply - Retail

or

Antec NeoPower ATX 480W Power Supply - Retail

I'm building a new rig with DFI SLI mobo, 1gig ram, couple hdd's, only a single vid card for now(prolly a 6800gt until next gen is out). I'm just waiting on A64 X2's to be available before putting this together. Which PSU would do me better. SLI is possibility in the future, I would like it to be quiet(obviously doable with adjustable fan on the enermax), but I also like the detatchtable cables on the antec. Comments would be appreciated.

Honestly I'd go with the 600Watt Enermax. I had the Antec NeoPower 480 and while it was a good PSU, the thing didn't quite have enough to run my rig right all the time. It was borderline. It worked fine with my other machine. All the voltages tested good under load with a volt meter.

So I wouldn't imagine the Enermax 485 watt would be much if any better at all. I upgraded to the 600Watt Enermax SLi for my SLi rig.

Now if you stay with a single card, and don't upgrade to SLi or you don't have more than one HDD and one or two optical drives you should be ok. With my system, I wasn't. My 12v rail started sagging bad under full load on that Antec.

antec truepower-II 480w can be had for 89 bucks..more powerful than the neopower but lacks the nice modular cables :) or the 550w truepower-II..38 amps on the 12v dual rails...can be had for cheaper than the neopower also..or the smae in some places.
