I'm about to upgrade my system and I'll be switching from a P4 to an AMD 64 (likely 3200+ overclocked a bit). I'll also be installing a Radeon X1800XT (upgrade from my 9800pro woohoo).
My current PSU is an Enermax Whisper: EG465P-VE
Specs are:
+3.3V +5V +12V -5V -12V +5VSb
38A 44A 20A 2A 1A 2.2A
AC input: 12A/7A
+3.3V & +5V: 220W
Max total power: 431W
Will this PS work for me? Is it powerfull enough overall? Also, does it have all of the proper cords necessary? I know it has a 4 pin connector for a P4 board but I don't think that'll be helpful for my new rig.
If I need a new PS could you please recommend a decent "bang for the buck" PS? I want good but I don't need the absolute best.
Thanks!
