What's the best Encryption/Security software/hardware for USB removable media?
Ideally, I would like something that does not require admin authority from the computer so it can be used on public or corporate machines.

Thanks!

Look at TrueCrypt, that is what I use.

http://www.truecrypt.org/

TrueCrypt is an open source (thus verifiable) and well regarded encryption solution.

For my external storage I encrypt the whole drive. Thus anything I store on the whole disk is encrypted, in a manner that it would take the NSA to get past. I can then safely carry or store it anywhere without worrying about about loss of data.

I have used TrueCrypt for many years. It is now up to version 6.1 which uses multiple cores.

Nice package, check it out.

The only problem I noticed with TrueCrypt is that if I install it on a USB flash drive ... it will only work on computers that I have ADMIN rights on. This would not be very helpful if I want to bring it to, say a Kinkos computer, to print my documents.
