I'm interested in sending an email with important information, and I know email is probably the most insecure way to transfer information...

When I try to encrypt the email, outlook tells me I need a Digital ID, and then refers me to a bunch of websites where I can buy some SSL Certificates or something...

I know there are "open SSL Libraries" but I don't know if that applies to this kind of situation, I'm just looking for a free way to encrypt an email... I know there's a free AIM Encryption certificate...

Thanks..

how sensitive is the info and what audience would want to know whats inside..?

im asking these to see where to direct you to.

Doesn't PGP have an encrypted email feature? I don't know what the TOS's are for this though.
