Anyway to enable ACPI on a windows XP install? Mate is running XP Pro, service pack 2, and for whatever reason he forced the HAL at install to be standard PC, thus disabling ACPI, or is it apic? Whichever one does all the power things. Anyone know of a way to turn it back on short of reinstalling windows?

Only way I know of is to reinstall. Its stupid, you can convert to standard pc at any time but you can't convert back...
