Enable Cool'n'Quiet on Abit AV8?

I just upgraded to an A64 3200+ (Winchester) on an Abit AV8, running XP SP2. I am quite happy with this setup, but I have noticed that the processor speed / voltages never drop when the processor is idle. I have enabled Cool'n'Quiet in the BIOS (I have the latest BIOS - 17), and I have installed the latest driver from the AMD website. But Throttlewatch, AMD PowerNow! Dashboard, and RM CPU clock all show that no throttling is taking place. Am I missing something?

Same issue, I guess we need to read more :p We obviously missing something

in the power options window (you can get to it from the screensaver options), set it to minimal power management. that should get c&q working

I figured it out a little while after I posted, I changed the power management to Max Battery and C'n'Q kicked right in. You would think they would tell you that somewhere.

I doubt it makes much difference, the only difference that I see is the default values for the time when stuff gets turned off, which I changed anyway. I think CnQ is off for Desktop, and on for anything else.
