Ok I'm kinda new to this, but searching the forums didn't answer anything yet...

I had about a dozen of my boxen set up in emiii, and I started messing with the other options. I remember something about "window transparency", but I was multitasking at work, and that could've been a dream. ha!

Well now when I run emiii.exe, it doesn't come up. It's listed in the task manager, but I can't see it and it doesn't show up with alt-tab.

Since then I've completely removed the folder, redownloaded and unzipped it. No change. Wtf did I do?

i noticed that with my emIII, if I have it trying to connect to some boxen that are offline or to a disconnected drive mapping or something it takes awhile to load up. Try starting it back up again and wait like 10 minutes. It should pop up eventually and or pop up in the system tray eventually.

edit: oh, sometimes I end up with a couple emIII.exe's running. Make sure you dont have multiple running in the processes tab of task manager.

Thanks I'm trying that now.

You may have put EMIII into stealth mode.
From the read me .......

Run EM in Stealth (No Tray Icon): This feature is always trouble to the new user. Be careful. You can put EM in Stealth Mode (No tray icon and no EM window visible) when EM starts by putting a check in this box. You can also set the stealth mode on from the EM tray icon menu. Once it is invisible, the only way to get EM back is to press and hold the “Scroll Lock” key. You might have to hold it down for as long as 30 seconds before EM will appear. This long delay is there because you may have this program running on a system that is used by others. They may use the scroll lock key for something, who knows for what, but possibly something. The odds are that a simple press of the scroll lock key will not make EM visible except by accident, and that is near impossible to do. So, just be patient if it happens. This feature allows you to monitor a system without others messing with the monitoring program. Used with the other selections available here can run the FAH client, hide it, run the EM program and hide it too. You can check on progress etc. by simply pressing the scroll lock key, viewing the EM window, then setting it back to stealth from the tray icon menu.

Luck ........... :D

You may have put EMIII into stealth mode...

Awesome, thanks! That must have been it. Although it didn't work until the 3rd or 4th try, I was about to give up, then poof! it came up. And I took it off of stealth mode. :) Thanks!
