Email sig issue in Outlook XP (2002)

When sending an email with an email signature (image w/hyperlink) those recieving the email get the signature with a functional hyperlink. However, on the PC sending the email if you look in the Sent messages or if I send an email to the owner of this account and then view the email in the Inbox the email signature image does not appear. The hyperlink works but the email sig image does not show.

Ideas?

Upgrade from the 8 year old version of Office/Outlook. Is this even supported anymore? What OS is on the machine that is having an issue? What OS is on the machines that it works on? I am almost positive if you are using Win 7 that version of Outlook has issues at least it did when 7 was in Beta and I attempted to use Outlook XP.

Win XP Pro SP3.

We plan to upgrade next year and will likely move to Office 2007, possibly 2010. At that point a new PC will have Win 7 of course.
