I used Entourage for awhile but the search and smart folders of apple mail are great and handles my home needs. For work I still use outlook 03 inside winxp under parallels.

Although I've used Entourage on and off for years I have had it with all the weird bugs, crashes and errors. I've been using Apple Mail on my home Mac since 2003 without even a single hiccup. At work we have Citrix for accessing Outlook which is good since Entourage blows up with most of the huge mailboxes people here have.

apple mail has always been fine for what i do.....works great, never lost my emails or anything (like used to happen in outlook from time to time).

I use Mail. For my first 2 years I used Entourage because I had a Hotmail account but I switch to just a IMAP and POP3 account (AOL & GMAIL) and it runs so much better, plus it got easily uploaded to my iPhone.

I haven't used a desktop client since switching to Gmail, and I don't intend to start anytime soon.

Mail.app because I don't need anything more. I generally get the mail on my blackberry before anything else though (push mail FTW)

I used Apple Mail at work, it does everything I need. For home use, I just use gmail.

Looks like entourage is getting pooped on, I thought it would be a lot closer than this. I use gmail too but I hardly ever use it, I can't stand having to go through a web app. to get my mail.

Apple Mail is the best email app I've ever used.. Does everything I could want and it's really fast.

I liked Apple Mail a lot when I used it, but the reason I really prefer using Entourage is because I like having my email, calender, address book, projects, and notes all in one application. Helps me stay much more organized. I think its just as easy to use as apple mail too.

apple mail for me, i love the integration with ical, address book and iphoto, plus it is pretty lightweight.

gmail.

I can't figure out how a person such as myself would use Mail - I often times search for old mail, and I have a good 8000+ emails on my gmail account. I've coppied them all over to my Mac and importd them into Mail, but there are so many damn email I and they look so messy I just can't handle it.

Also, I can't handle the fact that if I send an email from gmail, it doesnt sync/appear corectly in Mail (when I say "appear correctly", what I really mean is "appear just as it does in gmail). For instants, "conversations" appear, but not as I feel they should. Emails that I've sent out appear in my inbox.

Also, I only want new emails in my inbox, not all emails.

You can make folders (smart folders) that are searchable through spotlight (super fast)
