Well, this is my first time ever modding, and I hope it turns out the way I have it in mind. I'm not going to lie, I recieved my inspiration for this project mainly from Defyant's awesome work with the HP Ressurection series of mods. Anyway, this is what I am beginning with:
It's not much, but I hope I can turn it into something light for LANs, and something that makes my friends go oooooohh.
So far, all I've managed to do was mutilate the top with some tin snips, (bent something awful), and then finish the cutting with nibblers. Here's a peek at what I had when I was done:
And this is the top against the case:
Since I removed the top (reason being that a normal sized PSU wouldn't fit. See:
Since removing the top, the case has become very weak. I plan on cutting the portion seen here in red:
and putting it back in to provide more support to the case.
I was out today and decided to run by Home Depot and pick up a rotary tool, and decided on the Black and Decker RTX, along with the Dremel cutting kit. I believe the kit should have everything I need to work on the case.
I hope to have this done before the 28th, as I have a LAN at my church to assemble and setup. I also have another case, a desktop case that will host my HTPC, and I may start another thread RE that, but I think I might have both mods in this thread. Thanks for looking!
