I have a few questions before I buy it. Please try and help me out :p

1. With only PC2700 is it using some sort of divider? I assume the A64 is running at 200 mhz?

2. Is it easy to upgrade to the newest Catalyst drivers and do they work fine with the widescreen? Or do you need to download a modified .inf/.cfg file that some user created?

3. How is the TV-out quality?

4. Is 1280x800 bearable at that resolution? WXGA is the lowest end of the widescreen screens, and I'm wondering if they look good (both my BB and CC, dont have them on display)

5. Can you have 2 batteries in it at once?

6. Is the hardrive 5400 rpm? How much cache?

7. Will emachines still provide support if we go to Windows 64 bit when it comes out?

Thanks I think thats it for now.

1. CPU FSB 200mghz,memory 2x164 328 mghz
2.yes other people have using mobile mod,I tried newest Omega
drivers and they did not support 1280x800 prpperly.
3. haven't tried
4.yes ,for my eyes I would not want higher res.
5.No
6.yes,my 6805 came with Travelstar 5400rpm,HTS548060M9AT00

umm.. i'm not sure if the answer to question 1 answers this, but is the 512 megs of ram that the 6805 comes with 2 256 chips or one 512 chips? if its 1 512 chip, is there a second slot on the motherboard for future upgrading?

my local best buy had one on display when i was there today, the screen looked awesome. i just wish i had a job so i could have picked one up.

1. Yes
2. Not to the newest, Omega seems to have issues with the 1200x800. Expect it to be fixed soon, from what I've heard.
3. Don't know.
4. Yes. Absolutely. Screen is bright and clear. Not up to my Dell's USUXGA (1600x1200), but gorgeous, nonetheless. I like it a great deal.
5. No, one slot.
6. Yes. 8mb. Hitatchi and Fujitsu seem to be the 2 makers for them.
7. Yes.

Let me check.

Too bad the screen is only 1280x800. Battery life isn't too important to me, so this would be a nice upgrade.

I upgraded from a Inspiron 8100 with a sharp 1600x1200 LCD. While Dell had a better max resilution. The picture on the E-machine is way better.

I have the M6807 and a Dell D600 and the Dell Screen though smaller is much brighter and Crisper.

Also while writing a DVD+R the M6807 slows to a crawl when trying to do any other task while it's writing to DVD+R. Simple things like WEB Browsing turn to a crawl.

DMA is indicated as ON in Hardware properties. I can only Select Ultra DMA 2 in BIOS. I tried latest VIA Hyperion Drivers but that does not help. I have no problems with the Dell while Writing to CDR and multi tasking.

Anyone burn a CD on the M6805 or DVD+-R with the M6807 and notice any resource hogging? I love the speed of this machine while single tasking but I hate to not be able to surf the web at a normal speed while it's writng to disc. This might be a deal breaker.

No problems with CDR and multi-tasking. Got Soulseek, DC++, CDR burn, and a web browser open, no slowdown. DVD takes a lot of cpu encoding...

DVD burning slows down my desktop considerably. I don't think that is an issue with the laptop.
