I'm about to head to BB after work to see about picking one of these up. Is there any advice anyone can give me before I drop the cash for one? I know last night I posted I wanted a gaming laptop but I decided I want it mostly for work and college and a little gaming on the side if possible. Do you think the 6811 will perfom this role well or should I look at something else?
 
as a price performance no other NB can beat it, you may get another NB in one case, when you need longer battery life then you should buy centrino, other than that stcik with your choice
 
I've owned one for about a week now. It's the best laptop I've ever used. Excellent machine. I'm getting 2:30 hours battery life, not bad for the power this notebook has.

Well after work I went by BB and couln't help but buying one. This is my first laptop and so far I'm very impressed, I think I made the right choice.

On another note, screw best buy and its employees. All I wanted was a laptop and for 30 minutes the little dick wouldn't ring the computer up becuase he was trying to sell me stuff I didn't or had no use for even though I said I only want the laptop numerous times.
 
congratulation, good decision and good purchase, you will never regret it, i love my 6809, it is like horse except the harddisk of crouse :(
waiting for seagate's new mobile drives, till then will make some money to buy 7200 drive and upgrade the memory and goooooo

I just picked up the m6811 last night at Best Buy myself . It has been great so far, just installing updates and tuning it to my liking.
 
If any of you want to get one, i'm selling one from BB that I got, it's brand new in the box with case and service plan. I just need something lighter but I loved this laptop. Well the M6809.

The one I had had the hinge problem so they replaced it with the M6811, so if you get it form me and the problem does happen they'll replace it for you.
