I have been reading about headphone a lot lately because I find it interesting and I hope to be in the market for some nice ones once I become not so poor and I see that there are dynamic headphones which seem to be the normal type of headphones that I am used to but I also see some electrostatic headphones. I am having the damndest time trying to figure out what the difference between dynamic and electrostatic headphones is. So if you could link me to a description or just tell me I would appreciate it.

Electrostatic headphones have thin and lightweight diaphragms that vibrate inside in an electrostatic field. They can reproduce music with great detail and low distortion, because the response time is very fast. A separate high-voltage DC power supply ("energizer") polarizes the diaphragm, which is suspended between two metal plates called stators. The polarizing (or bias ) voltage supply is most often AC-based, but there are battery-powered energizers.
