DBGromacs Core Supported

What's New Version 3.2.0
Added support for the new core, GBGromacs. This core is a variant on the main Gromacs core Core_78, differing in its incorporation of a fast, "implicit solvent" model (as used in Core_65). It complements Core_78 nicely, increasing the spectrum of tools available.

Thanks very much to those of you who have donated a couple of $$$ to the EM-DC.COM web site. I really appreciate the help.

Enjoy! :D

Once again, great work. Thanks for providing such a helpful tool!

Not to sound ungrateful, but is there a place/way to make feature requests?

Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication Larry!

I don't consider feature requests "ungreatful" sounding...
No program is ever perfect... ;)

I read everything posted here...

Can you configure EM3 to make my boxen fold 3x faster?

Thanks for the update Larry.

This may have been asked before, but could you add a check box in the options (general info) that you could check to temporarly disable monitoring a box without actually deleting it? That way if one died or you had to take it down for a short while you could just check the ticker box to suspend monitoring that computer so you could get your green status back without actually deleting it and having to add it back later.

This may be a PITA for you to program, but any consideration is appreciated.

Right click on boxen name "suspend".

Feature request: I know that proper attribution to the author is necessary, but I would like to see a "super-slim" skin version of em3 with a smaller (or no) logo. This is perhaps more a personal preference, but I run em3 on the "13" setting so each box takes the minimum amount of space. And the EM3 logo takes up about half the window. Is there a way to put all the buttons, title, etc across the top in one narrow row, like:
{Total pts} {day pts} {settings btn} Electron Microscope {view change} {Min}{Max/Restore}{Exit}

While were at it, can I get a full screen "13" view, or .00013 view.... :D

Yea, suspend is neat. EM3 no like it when you remove ~25 boxen at once. Takes awhile to load. I'm scared to fire EM3 back up after my last pull down of boxen..

Great program Larry! As said before, without EM3 we would all be folding blind!

I can say that this probably won't happen. If EM were a "normal" looking window and not skinned, no biggie.

There are however, a number of skins that you could use to minimize the height of the window. The default skin and a few others are taller than they have to be even with the logo stuff... many remove stuff... everything has a position coordinate... something to take advantage of... many have. The team/logo window does serve two purposes, one of which is to notify the user that a new version is available. ;)

Yeah, thanks for the reminder... I need to revisit the code that does that...
In its original incarnation, EM was built to monitor a maximum of 4 instances. The delete routine really was not written with more in mind. I do need to fix that. It can be improved a lot. ;)

Glad someone remembered the "Suspend" feature... much requested idea. ;)

Did EMIII stop notifying the user of an upgrade? With the last couple upgrades you've announced here, I've gone home and opened EMIII, fully expecting to see a "Upgrade to Version _________", but it hasn't been there...

Admittedly, I looked for about 5 sec (blame it on the girlfriend taking up all my time :D) last night to see if it was some checkbox that I clicked or unclicked, but I didn't see anything...

Just curious

I have noticed the same thing before and sometimes it will take a couple of days before the message pops up on a couple of machines. Usually, it's when the system hasn't been restarted and is working on a WU that takes a while. It proabably updates at the same time it's scheduled to update the points, when a WU is finished and uploaded. That's probably why it didn't show. This is just a guess on my part. For the definite answer you'd proabably have to have Larry pop in.

Normal schedue to look for updates is midnight or about then, user local time...
Check for updates box is all that it needs... and an internet connection of course. ;)

That'd be why then... hadn't made it to midnight yet ;)

Thanks again for the great program!
