While I fixed the tracking of Timeless Tinker work units in the previous version the fix broke the AMBER core tracking. I have now fixed the AMBER core problem without breaking the Timeless Tinker tracking. I am still looking into other reported issues, but this one needed fixing ASAP.

The update has been posted to the web site.

So that's why rig 5 here won't tell me anything...

Make sure that EM isn't running in the task manager before launching...
If it sees EM is already running and you aren't running multiple instances using the -more flag, EM will shut down.

nope, i closed it before i updated it. even if i restart it doesnt work

Do you have it set to auto-minimize in stealth mode? is it running at all? or just for that split second?

i just went ahead and reinstalled it... works now but i had to redo all the boxen info stuff :p

Not sure at all about what's causing this. EM3 3.0.9 is occasionally crashing out:

em3_error.gif

On the box that EM3 is running on, the FAH500-Console program it controls is unaffected; restarting EM3 has no effect on the client's operation, and shutting down EM3 in a normal manner brings up the console window as configured. The box is running WinXP Pro, SP2.

No other reports of this happening.
I'm running on the same OS etc...
Monitoring 7 clients...

I haven't a clue as to why it might be happening on your box.
Memory issue maybe? Video card?

EM is usually a rock...

yeah usually its fine for me. at home i run it monitoring 13 clients and its usually very stable. i do have one problem though: it keeps saying there is a new version out even when ive updated it

That is odd... hover your mouse over the microscope in the tray... it should say 3.0.9
If not, then it wasn't updated. For some odd reason some people aren't told that EM would not update when they unzip the files into the folder and EM is still running. EM has to be shut down before the file can be updated on the HD.

yeah ive tried updating about 4 or 5 times, each time ive made sure em3 wasnt running. it says i have version 2.6.8

The past few days I've had some trouble with EM3 also. For some reason it will freeze. I can't bring it up from they system tray and I can't stop the process with Task Manager. Sometimes when I try to stop the process, it will throw an error, which I haven't written down yet, but will stay there. It will not close. I can't seem to do anything about it except reboot. Everything else seems to work also except for my network access. I'm not able to access the other systems on the network at all and no internet connection since it's shared through a router. At this time I'm not 100% positive that it's an EM3 problem or not, but it's looking like it could be. I'm going to give it a couple more days to see if this happens again.

EMIII ver 3.09 running on system in sig. WinXP Pro w/SP2. It will do this whether or not I am using the system at the time, system on 24/7.

As I said, I'm going to monitor what happens. There is a chance it could be a problem monitoring one of the systems on the network and the system is the one at fault. If it happens again, I'll probably stop monitoring the system I think could be the problem to see if that fixes it. I just thought I'd give you a heads up, though.

If something happens on one of the network connections, EM will stop monitoring it and will retry the connection about every 5 minutes. This is based on your options menu settings.

I have read of a number of problems that have started showing up after the installation of SP2 for XP. In most cases it is a driver issue, video, etc. It is sometimes difficult to figure out. Not saying that is the problem, but many have never had an issue until that was installed. Then lot's of things started to go wrong, and not right away. Many times it appears to take a couple of weeks before issues start showing up. Hope that's not the trouble anyone is seeing here, but I thought I would mention it. I haven't installed SP2 because of the posted problems. I run a firewall and a router...
