is it ok to use electrical tape to hold wires againt the case when you cant use a zip tie?

just wondering if it will melt, or if there is a better tape for this.

nope, electrical tape won't melt unless its like 400 degrees inside your case ;) Although you may have a problem getting electrical tape to stick to the metal.
 
Then there's always the tried and true method to attach anything to anything else......

DUCT TAPE!!!!! LOL ;)
 
i think duct tape will work better, and will probably blend with your case better, as well. Electrical tape is awesome stuff due to it's flexibility, but it leaves sick residue (as does duct tape, i am aware), but the thing about electrical tape is it slides around very slowly, leaving nasty tar-like residue even if it's still ON.
