Ok to keep it short this is what happen I go thru the steps wire up the EL wire underneth the keys plug it into the power converter ment for a car so I put a molex connector on it. Plug it in and voila it works. So I put all of it back together and it works again. So I plug it in route the wires and turn the PC back on and I don't see any lighting. Next thing I know I smell something burning. The transformer on the damn converter seems to have had a meltdown anyone know if you have to change anything on the power end to keep it from doing this again or maybe I just had a faulty converter.

EDIT: yes i had it hooked up to the 12V line on the molex and the polarity was correct

Ok so you had some EL Wire. What did you mean when you said 'it was meant for a car'?

Its very possible its just a bad inverter. You never know though.

Try wiring it back to the car plug (assuming lighter) and see if it works

I meant it was a car accessory I found at auto zone! I just clipped the plug and wired it into a molex connector.

Bad inverter...Maybe but I don't get why it would work at first and then try to have a melt down...

Guess I'm off to the store to buy another one
