Has anyone else had problem installing a motherboard with the ek supreme hf backplate? when installing it as per the instructions with the standoffs, rubber mat + backplate it protrudes higher than the motherboard
standoffs for my case making it impossible to install the mobo into the case without bending it.

Is it ok to install without the backplate if i use a lighter pressure? otherwise im going to have to make a cutout in my mobo tray. There must be other people who have experienced this problem as i thought mb standoffs are all a standard size.

Cheers

For my HK 3.0 you replace a set of nuts and washers with the backplate, so idk if you need to remove something from a non-backplate installation to make it work

I could just use the screws that go in thruogh the back plus the plastic standoffs, i dont want to damage the board though by bending it so i would rather use a backplate.

I forgot to mention im using an 1155 socket. but i cant see how the ek supreme backplate could work for anybody with 1155 systems because if you install it as per the instructions that backplate is sticking out farther than the motherboard standoffs, unless the mb standoffs are different sizes depending on case.

yeah don't have any experiece with this block or motherboard however you might be able to get slightly longer/taller mb stand-offs.

thanks aphasia. Yeah i did think about adding a washer on the motherboard tray side of the standoffs, but the problem with that is the i/o ports/expansion cards might not line up with the case back panel properly.

yeah i thought of that when i posted. you might have a few mm headroom. the i/o plates generally have a bit of give in them, PCI slots at worse you have a bit of space at the top of the bracket where the screw is. as you suggested, try the washers to see how bad the 'lift' is. if it works, swap them out with taller mb stand-offs.

if the mod dosen't work (shifts the mb too far up) cutting a square in the mb tray behind the socket isn't a bad thing. it will at least make further changes to the socket (new water blocks or cpu's) a lot easier in the future.

Ok i got some brass washers, ended up having to use 3 under each standoff but it seems to do the trick. Had to remove the I/O shield and make a packer for the expansion cards though.

TY for your help aphasia.

glad to help.

it's not a very elegant 'solution'. if your happy to leave as is, cool. however if it were me i'd be looking for a more permanent fix like a better backplate or cut a 'convenience' hole in mb tray (got a giggle out of that, my mind is in the gutter today).

course if the fix is solid, looking to put back your i/o shield is more about aesthetics.
