I had this EK Nucleus expensive 360 AIO I bought like 3 years ago, the RGB all died randomly so they sent me a new one. It sat in the closet for a while because I had already replaced it.

Fast forward to a few months ago and I built a rig for a friend with a 13700K and used the brand new replacement to save him some money, well he brought it back to me due to high temps this week. I checked it with my thermal camera and there was definitely a clog in the radiator so I pulled it apart, I can’t believe we’re still doing this in 2026 after all those asetek failures with MSI and other brands a few years back.

I haven't touched EK products in years. I think I still have an AM4 waterblock in it's box still from 2018.

That's a shame. Have you let EK know, is there still a warranty claim to be made?

That's pretty bad. I've been using two of those AIOs for a few years now, both non-RGB and they've been working fine. I got them heavily discounted though.

If one of them fails, that would be an excuse for me to get the Noctua AIO or maybe just go back to air cooling so I can just avoid that kind of thing altogether.

I have no idea. I was planning to flush it and fill it with some primochill coolant I had but I broke one of the copper strands that run the motor so I just tossed it.

Its beyond the original warranty, and tbh it was a MASSIVE hassle to get it replaced the first time. They required a pile of forms and videos of me explaining what happened, it took weeks of back and forth and the only reason I did all of it was out of spite.

Its an Asetek design I'm fairly sure, but this one was considered a high performer when it came out and it was manufactured way later than that other big rash of coolers that had problems.

You and me both. Though big companies often find a way to stay alive despite not having or making any money. It's really quite impressive how long some corporations are able to do it.
