I've been waiting and watching the LCD's out there, and waiting for the perfect monitor to suit my needs. I'm still gaming on my 20" CRT, no real complaints - but wanted to eventually get a 1080 or 1900 x 1200 widescreen to also be able to use my xbox on and also watch some movies. I definitely didn't want to settle on a TN panel with horrible viewing angles. I was thinkin about gettin the HP2475, but the big price tag and so-so results of input lag testing made me hesitate. Afterall, I am a gamer, first and foremost. :D

Today I saw this:

This looks to be a pretty promising new model from Eizo - what do you guys think? I think that with all the media connection options, the promise of low input lag, and suitability to play 1080p movies makes this one a winner. I only hope it will be availble in the states and for a fair price. I am willing to pay a premium price for a premium monitor, but it also has to be within reason. Otherwise I can get me an "ok" monitor and spend the rest on a big screen hdtv lol.

Yeah, this monitor looks hella awesome. Looks similar to Samsung's T240HD in that its a monitor with a ton of HDTV features, but the Thru Mode looks like it'll eliminate all the massive lag issues the T240HD had. The ability to display 24fps content natively is a killer feature.

Eizo doesn't sell monitors in this country (as far as I know). Though I THINK they mentioned something about starting that at some point, but that was a while ago.

Price-wise, assuming this is an IPS panel monitor, this looks like it might be in the upper $750s to possibly even $1,000 range.

If those are your concerns, then why would you consider an EIZO monitor? The HP costs around $500-$600 and has one frame of lag, while the EIZO will probably cost at least $1600 (if not more) and has two frames of lag. Not only that, the HP has an IPS panel while the EIZO is S-PVA. I see no reason to get the EIZO monitor.

Thanks for setting me straight on the price, I didn't initially have any idea how much it was going to cost. I guess it was just wishful thinking :D
The HP is still #1 on my list, but I think it's actually more like 2 frames of lag (between 30 - 35 ms) average, isn't it? According to the reviews from digitalversus and Prad.
