Hey everyone

I just received the Eizo EV2333W this morning and quickly plugged it to my media machine.
The first impression was a good image and as important for me: I heard no humming coming from it or at least I could not hear anything.
While the EV2333W was connected to my PC through a DVI-HDMI adapter, then my older S-PVA screen, the Samsung 193p+, was connected to the DVI port.
As I watch anime myself, then I took one of my 1080p movies and ran it on both screen, I must admit I got a bit disappointed, the Samsung had more clear and vibrant colours compared to the Eizo, not sure if it is a panel difference or calibrations thing.
But a funny thing was that when I took a white background, then the Eizo seemed a lot more white then Samsung and Eizo had a much higher brightness, had to reduce it quite a lot before it became comfortable looking at the screen on a white background.
Also, looks like there is no dead pixels and uniformity is perfect.

Sadly I had to go to university soon after I got it, will write more impressions later on.

Regards

Sebastian

Be sure to try custom mode with 6500k/2.2 gamma with enhanced overdrive.

Also check out monochrome photography like http://www.flickr.com/groups/monochromeaward/discuss/72157623519075770/page2/. The linearity of this monitor is fantastic.

I have finally decided to return the screen.
Sadly after I got home the screen decided that it was time for me to be introduced to this buzzing and at my working distance, then it was clearly audible. Even if it was not, then I regard it as poor workmanship that they have designed the electronics this way (engineer myself).
Eventhough the screen has some treats over my old Samsung 193p+, then I overall felt that my 193p+ was a better screen, so for the price range of the Eizo I did not feel that I got anything better.
I also saw someone seliing two 193p+ for around 50 dollars each, so I think I will take a look on those and if the condition is fine, then I will combine mine and those two into a three screen setup.

Sebastian
