One Tomb Raider fan who managed to complete Shadow of the Tomb Raider before it was patched was treated to a largely different ending than what developers Eidos Montreal intended. To prove that he isn’t a troll and liar, Tomb Raider forum user Tombstone has uploaded the alternate ending in full. Ironically, the patched-out ending is said by some to be better than the “official” one, in that it actually ties in with the original 1996 Tomb Raider.

Since Wednesday, Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s most hardcore fans have been abuzz about why the game would have two endings and why one would have been patched out just as the game launched. As is often the case with modern video games, Shadow launched with patches ready to be installed. Notes for those patches mention things like “added photographer mode” and “improvement and optimization on Lara’s hair,” but they don’t mention anything about the ending being changed.

that is the entire ending or just a after credits ending.

Hope that isn't the only thing cause it would be total shit no matter what.

Been taking my time with the game and trying to find all the extra stuff. Only at around 40% so I haven't seen this. Not the first time something like this has happened. Just look at all those ROM's people have hacked over the years only discover hidden or unused code. Even in more recent years that has happened. [H] posted something about one last month for one of the original Doom's or similar. The shame is that the patch removed it. Thanks to Tombstone for posting so we could at least see it.
