Hello

Which water pump is better? On the SwifTech website, they said theirs was better. Are they right?

Of course they say its better. Considering the spotty track record of the switftech pumps recently, I'd go Eheim 1250. I have one, it is very nice.

The 1250 is very BIG. Other then that it's a great pump, been using it for about 4 years now.

The Swiftech pump is probably better. Just call them up and make sure you get the revised model. Running off the 12vdc molex connector makes it much easier to incorporate into a case.

I'd go with the Eheim. I had the MCP600 pump and it wasn't all that great. It just stopped moving water after a couple weeks, kept running but the water wasn't moving. Swiftech wouldn't do anything about it either. Switched to an Ehiem 1048 and haven't had any problems.

I'd have to say go with the Eheim. I've got one, and have never had a problem with it.

Well, Swiftech not only did something about it, they shipped replacement heads (that take about 90 seconds to replace if you have a screwdriver) to all their distributors.. All ya gotta do is ask :)

I called them multiple times, they just kept dragging their feet, didn't really want to help me so I said F*ck them. they are 2 mins. from my office, tempted to go down there....

Sorry off topic, but kinda related. I bent some pins on a Swiftech HSF and emailed them about sending it in for repair (offering to pay for it of course). Never even got a response to my email and that was 2 weeks ago. They seem to make good products, but CS seems lousy. Last Swiftech product I buy.

It seems as if Swifty's CS suffers mood swings. There was some guy on here a while ago complaining about a GPU block, and how one of the CS representatives was rather unpleasant to him.

Go figure...

this is crap, and stupid to boot (yes you, Leatherface)
why would anyone other than an idiot pay $80 for a pump that did not work ?
-> when the 'fix' (a replacement pump head) is freely available ??

BTW, thousands have been sold, less than 1% failed; all failures replaced

bent pins can be straightened (by you ?), broken pins not as they are all pressed at once
no idea why no one got back to you, sorry

be cool

hehe

refer to post above

but no offence at all billa, your arguments are perfectly valid and well founded, but some people are pretty sensitive, and won't like a company unless they cradled them i their arms and reassured them that everything will be okay. Well, I think that you people should wake up. Customer Service is something that has become way overblown in the computer industry, because noone knows what they are doing. When you are doing something such as watercooling your pc, you should at least know what you are doing and take some responsibility. Not cry helplessly when something goes wrong.

well, it came in a swiftech 22501 kit that i paid $30 for over at Fry's. It was cheap, so upgrading the pump to an eheim wasn't that big of a deal. I could care less whether their CS rep treated me like crap or not, but obviously this is a known problem, and since Swiftech didn't feel they needed to either tell me about or send me a replacement head (which I would have paid for), I have to recommend the Eheim over the Swiftech.

Sometimes it helps to know the details before you start mouthing off and calling people idiots.
