egva 8500gt problems?

new system that im putting together for someone and i put an evga 8500gt pcix card in thats having some odd problems. I get video when i start up, but after a few seconds (id say 15-30) it shuts off the video and no signal is being sent. i have to shut the system OFF (not just reboot or hit the reset sw) to get it to come back on and then it does the same thing
if i set the video to PCI in the bios i get NOTHING...

mainboard: supermicro c2sba +II
video: evga 8500gt

any ideas?
 
its a 430watt psu, i noticed when i went back to it this morning that when the video shuts down, the proc fan starts going faster... im wondering if there is maybe something up with the power supply?

its got one hdd, one dvdrom the card the mainboard & thats all thats in there so the 430 really should be enough i would think...
