Effectiveness of BGA Ramsinks

I have a couple of items left to order in my case-modding/cooling project, and as I go over them, I keep returning to OCZ's BGA ramsinks to cool the ram on the backside of my Radeon 9700 card (front side has an Arctic VGA Silencer, so they won't fit there). However, how much difference is there really in adding these? Will it truly keep the card a little more stable at higher-than-normal speeds? (I'm running it at 9700Pro speeds currently; the card has Samsung chips). It would probably end up being more for good looks than anything else, but I'm curious to know if anyone really has been helped by using these. If they're completely worthless, I can spend the $15 somewhere else.

I have 9700pro with ATI silencer/OCZ BGA ramsink and as for memory overclocking, Im able to increase it from 310 to 335 before i start getting artifacts. I have not done overclocking this card with no ramsink so I'm not sure how far it can go.

It wont make as much difference as others pointed out but it sure looks good once installed and the feeling that it's really doing its job transfering the heat is satisfying enough.

putting heatsinks on only half the memory chips will net you next to nothing in terms of increased overclocking headroom.

However, they do look darn schpanky, and I have heard they increase your 1337-ness factor by at least 2.4 so.........

True. Don't even bother.
